Shifty's Club

About

Welcome to Shifty's Club! Shifty's Club is owned and operated by Dan Samples AKA Shifty... yours truly. I got the nickname a long time ago back in 2000, and it stuck with me ever since. I decided to take it and embrace it, and I've made it into what it is today and what I hope for it to be in the future. I have been playing Pokémon TCG & VGC competitively since 1999, and my love for the game has been around ever since.

I started the Shifty's Club YouTube channel before Twitch was ever a thing. I started out originally doing videos on Pokémon TCG and VGC on cards and decks, as well as individual Pokémon and competitive teams. I did several videos discussing meta, tournament expectations & results, and even product openings. At one point, I started including videos of me playing piano, Magic: The Gathering cards & decks & strategy, sports betting, and even other random videos.

I didn't start playing Pokémon games blindfolded until I was in middle school (that's a story of its own). I only learned what speedrunning was in 2020, and when I did I learned as much as I could about it. In 2020, I streamed for the very frist time on Twitch speedrunning Pokemon Red blindfolded. All these years later I never imagined that I would ever be where I am today... playing the games I love... blindfolded... on stream... for anyone and everyone who is eager to watch.

Now, I do play other games on stream. The non-Pokémon games I play most include Valorant, TeamFight Tactics, & Magic: The Gathering Arena. What will I play in the future? Only time will tell. Let's hope for the best! Thank you for being a part of it!
